Installation

What are the three components?

Hangtracks mount to the wall and carry all load. Standards hook over the Hangtracks and slide horizontally to position. Shelves rest on the Standards and adjust vertically without tools. Three parts. One continuous surface.

What tools do I need?

A drill and a level to mount the Hangtracks. Nothing else. Once the Hangtracks are in, everything else is hand-adjusted.

Do I need to mount into studs?

Yes. The Hangtracks are designed for stud mounting. Each Hangtrack has holes spaced 1" apart, so they align with studs at virtually any spacing — 16", 24", or non-standard. This is a deliberate feature of the design.

Can I mount into brick or concrete?

Yes. The Hangtracks will accept masonry anchors. We don't supply them, but any standard masonry anchor rated for the load will work.

Can one person install it?

Yes. The Hangtracks go up first — that's the only step that benefits from a second pair of hands for leveling. Everything after that is one person, no tools.

Can I reposition the shelves after installation?

Yes. Shelves lift off the Standards by hand and rehang at any position. No tools, no holes, under a minute per shelf.

Strength and Load

How much weight can each shelf hold?

165 lbs (75 kg) per bracket pair. This is a structural rating, not a guideline — the system is designed around load paths, not aesthetics.

Is it suitable for books and heavy objects?

Yes. Dense book loads, vinyl records, ceramics, equipment. The system behaves like structure, not furniture.

Will the shelves sag over time?

No. The shelves are 16-gauge steel. There is no wood composite, no MDF, nothing that absorbs moisture or creeps under load.

How does this compare to typical floating shelves?

Most floating shelves are rated for 20–30 lbs and rely on drywall anchors. Each Desh— shelf is rated for 165 lbs and transfers load directly to studs through the Hangtrack. They are not the same category of product.

System and Flexibility

Can I add more shelves later?

Yes. The Standards accept any shelf at any position. Buy one bay now, add another later. The Hangtracks never move.

Can I extend across a full wall?

Yes. Run Hangtracks end to end, add Standards and shelves across the full width. The system scales horizontally without limit.

Can the components be cut?

Hangtracks and Standards can be cut to length. Shelves cannot.

Dimensions

What sizes are available?

Hangtracks: 24" and 36". Standards: 85" full length, or two 42.5" halves used independently. Shelves: 24" and 36" wide, in depths of 8", 12", and 16".

How far do the shelves project from the wall?

9.75", 13.75", and 17.75" depending on shelf depth chosen.

Finish and Materials

What are the shelves made of?

16-gauge steel, powder-coated in RAL 9003 matte white. The brackets are 14-gauge steel, same finish. All components match.

Will the finish scratch?

The powder coat is comparable to automotive paint — durable, but not impervious. It will mark under sustained abrasion. Normal use won't be an issue.

Do the finishes match across components?

Yes. Hangtracks, Standards, and Shelves are all RAL 9003 matte white powder coat.
