Standard

The adjustable vertical rail that carries Desh- shelves. Standards slide along the Hangtrack and support shelf edges, so you can change shelf width, spacing, and column placement without fixing every rail to the wall.

  • Fits: Desh- hangtracks and shelves.
  • Height: 85" total, shipped as two 42.5" halves.
  • Use for: tall wall shelving, lower shelf runs above furniture, and expandable multi-bay layouts.
  • Setup: slide onto a Hangtrack; use full height or separate halves.
  • System parts: pair with Hangtracks and Shelves.

How standards work

The standard is the vertical rail that slides onto your hangtrack and carries your shelves. Standards are positioned wherever a shelf edge falls - which means a single row of shelves requires one standard at each edge, and any shared edge between two adjacent shelves needs just one standard, not two.

This is what makes the system genuinely open-ended. Because standards are not fixed to the wall, they can be placed at any point along the hangtrack. A row of 24" shelves and a row of 36" shelves can be arranged in the same system without vertical alignment - simply add a standard wherever a new shelf edge needs support.

Height

Each standard is 85" tall and ships as two 42.5" halves in a single box. The two halves can be used together at full height, or each half can be used independently as a shorter rail.

  • Full 85": suits taller installations and maximizes the number of shelf positions available.
  • 42.5" halves used independently: better suited to lower-profile setups above a desk, a dresser, or alongside a bed.

The height of your standard determines how many shelves a column can hold at your preferred spacing. A taller standard gives you more positions to work with.

How many do you need?

Start with two standards - one on each side of your first bay. Add one standard for each additional bay. If your rows do not align vertically, add one standard wherever a new shelf edge falls that is not already supported.
